Portraits is an interesting traditional deck solitare capture game, but the way the rules are written you can set up and draw to an instant loss. You can also get a surprise automatic loss out of nowhere if too many royals are clustered together in the deck. That makes it a good candidate for an app because we can instantly redraw until we have a playable start condition and we can fiddle with the royals odds a bit.

This is a reasonably challenging game, even with a programmerly finger on the scale you shouldn't get a 12-portrait win too often and sometimes you will have a short unwinnable game (it is patience, after all!). Good news, you can just retire and start over.

• Never start a game with insta-loss (theoretically!)
• Game is slightly weighted toward drawing at least 1 royal per turn (reduction in dry spells caused when all the royals end up at the bottom of the deck for some reason [narrator: the reason was destiny])
• No surprise game losses, which can occur if multiple royals are drawn to max out the private auction line (e.g. you suddenly go from 2 to 5, and it's game over).
• Loss condition check! Game warns you if the market is frozen 99% of the time (allow for % edge cases por favor)
•  Zero table space, you can fit the entire game in your mouth, impress your friends
•  Game silently yells at you if you try to cheat and is usually correct.
•  Score tracking
• If you don't play my family will starve
